Child friendly Malaga

One of the world's oldest cities having been founded in 770 BC by the Phoenicians, Malaga has the busiest seaport on the Mediterranean. Known as the sunny capital of the Costa del Sol, it is first and foremost the place to indulge in sun, sand, sea, chiringuitos and tapas. Aside from this, it is a great place to take the kids for holidays full of fun.

Make sure you brush up on your ancient history so that you can tell the kids all about the Alcazaba Fortress, Gibralfaro Castle, pirate escapades and ancient kings. Failing doing your homework, the children won't know if you base your flawed stories on Pirates of the Caribbean.  Take the time to walk along Muelle Uno and La Malagueta where plenty of boats, ferries, cruise ships and fancy yachts will vie for their attention.  The beachfront here offers plenty of choice of where to satisfy rumbling tummies to keep the children happy and contented.

You may have gleaned that quite a few attractions require transport to get to, so make sure that you always catch a family cab complete with children booster seats or baby seats to get your precious cargo safely to their destination.

Officially known as Málaga–Costa del Sol Airport, Málaga Airport is the main international airport servicing Costa del Sol and is 8 km southwest of Malaga and 5 km north of Torremolinos.  From here you can connect with over 20 Spanish cities and over 100 European cities, or just take an airport taxi or transfer with baby seat into town.
