Child friendly Lisbon

 

This is the city with the hidden attraction that is only open once a year. You literally go down the "rabbit" hole like Alice in Wonderland to gaze at underground Roman Galleries, believed to be a crypt from the 1st Century BC during the reign of Augustus.  But be prepared to queue for about 3.5 hours. This is absolutely not an attraction to take the kids to, as they will drive you insane whilst waiting.

 

The one attraction that will have the kids enthralled is having a sleepover with the sharks at the Lisbon Oceanarium, or an unusual "fishy" concert for toddlers held each Saturday morning, will have the kids cackling with laughter.

 

If haircuts are due, take them to Tesourinhas, where they can sit in a car or a plane whilst gorging on lollies during the usual tortuous haircut event. Or, let the kids loose in the Monsanto Forest Park amongst the numerous playgrounds and they can live out the fantasy of being American Indians complete with tepee tents.  All children love to feed animals, so grab a family cab with appropriate car seats such as boosters or baby seats to accommodate all the kids and go to the Lisbon Zoo.

 

Lisbon Portela Airport, also known as Lisbon Airport,is the main international airport for Portugal. A range of airport service exist, both taxis and airport transfers with car seats for a safe journey into town.
