1. Harrison Cave

Harrison’s Cave is one of the most impressive sites in Barbados. It’s among the few places where you can take a ride on a tram to the mountain!

As you travel, you’ll be exploring the caves, which are said to have been discovered back in the 1930s. However, the caves were opened in the 1970s for greater exploration. The delay had been due to some natural challenges.

As you get to the cave’s lower level, you’ll be invited to disembark from the tram and walk along a breathtaking waterfall plunging into a pool that extends deep down.

Harrison’s Cave is about 26.9km from the airport. There are several transportation options, like a bus, Towncar, or taxi. The fastest way to get there is by using a taxi, and the ride will take about 25 minutes.

2. Barbados Wildlife Reserve

Have you ever heard of or seen a green monkey? If not, you and your kids shouldn’t miss a visit to Barbados Wildlife Reserve. This place was established as a primate research center in 1982. 

You and your kids will spend some lovely time enjoying the sight of rare animals like green monkeys, tortoise caiman, parrots, and maras. 

Your visit would even be even more pleasant if you managed to get there during the early afternoon hours when the monkeys are usually being fed. 

The reserve is about 35.3km from the airport and you can use a bus, a Towncar, or a taxi to get there. However, a taxi would be the fastest solution as it’s a 27-minute ride to get to the reserve.

3. Bathsheba Park

On the east coast of Barbados, there is this amazing beachfront park called Bathsheba Park. This is another family-friendly destination to visit with your children. 

The park, situated within Bathsheba town, has some wonderful trees to see and behold. You can sit under them as you enjoy a picnic lunch with your loved ones. You’ll enjoy the breeze from the tradewinds as this is the best way to cool off.
