Sicily
Book your family taxi with car seat in Sicily
Child friendly Sicily
Sicily is cloaked in Greek myths, sea monsters, Zeus and The Odyssey. The saying "between a rock and a hard place" was born out of the myth of gigantic monsters guarding the narrow passage of the Messina Strait, running between Sicily and Calabria. Grab the kids and go to Sicily, especially if you have a football team of boys, as this is one island that appeals to the male mentality.
Take the children up the volcano to the summit of Mount Etna and if the kids are really into the whole molten lava and ash experience, visit one of the volcanoes on the Aeolian Islands nearby. If a zoo and dinosaur exhibit will thrill your children, go to the theme complex that includes a water park, Etna Land.
Let the kids go berserk playing amongst the medieval castles that are literally scattered throughout the island. Or, take the kids to experience a festival of knights and maidens in a local town's piazza. For the outdoorsy children you can have them trying archery, horse riding or mountain biking in the stunning Madonie Mountains. Don't forget to take the good old bucket and spade for a few hours of sand castle building with the kids on any one of the many beaches.
Many of the places you will want to visit will require transport to get to them, so book a family taxi with appropriate car seats for the family brood such as a baby seat for the new born or a booster seat for your toddler.
Catania–Fontanarossa Airport is located 4.3 km southwest of Catania so a airport transfer with car seat will be a necessity to get to your accommodation.
