Agadir's airport, Al Massira, is about 20 km south-east of the city, and the ways out of it are limited. The small city taxis (petits taxis) don't serve the airport, the airport bus runs only about once an hour, and Uber only arrived in Agadir in July 2026. Most families leave by the large airport taxis (grands taxis) or a pre-booked transfer. None of these will normally have a child seat unless you arrange one.
Moroccan road rules for children
Morocco's Highway Code (Law 52-05) sets two rules every visiting family should know:
• Children under 10 may not sit in the front seat. It's a second-class offence, with an on-the-spot fine of 500 MAD.
• Seat belts are compulsory in every seat, front and back.
Airport taxis rarely carry child seats. For a baby or toddler, the only reliable way to have a proper seat is to book it in advance.
Getting from AGA into Agadir and Taghazout
From AGA to | Distance | Drive time | Taxi fare |
Agadir centre | about 20 to 25 km | 20 to 40 min | about 200 to 220 MAD per car |
Taghazout | north of Agadir | about 45 min | about 400 MAD per car |
Grand taxi fares are per car, not per person, with extra charges for luggage reported at some times. Late-night arrivals often cost more.
The ALSA Aerobus costs 50 MAD one way (80 MAD return) and takes about 50 minutes, running roughly hourly to and from Vallée des Oiseaux via the beach zone.

Agadir with children
• The beach: Agadir's bay has a beach of about 12 km, with a long seafront promenade.
• Crocoparc: home to around 300 Nile crocodiles in 4 hectares of gardens, on the edge of the city at Drarga.
• Oufella cable car: a 1,700 m ride of about 5 minutes up to the ruins of the 1540 kasbah, destroyed in the 1960 earthquake, with sweeping views over the bay.
• Souk El Had: a huge covered market with thousands of stalls. It's closed on Mondays.
• Taghazout: the surf village north of Agadir, with breaks for beginners.
• Paradise Valley: about 58 km from Agadir, best in late winter and spring when the pools are full. Cliff-jumping accidents happen, so keep children well back from the edges.
Winter sun
In January, daytime temperatures are around 18 to 20°C, with roughly seven hours of sunshine, while the sea is about 17°C. That's why winter and spring are the best family months.
